Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial title since the Rome competition and first on a hard court after that period of 2023.
The win also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and regular reactions on court had led commentators to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional title, seized the initiative to create a decider.
He rescued 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, he secured the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a return after over two and a half hours.
